SDLPD Temp File FAQ Products Order Contact Us Back

Q. Where does SDLPD store temp files on the server?

A. Temp files are stored in the print queue spooling directory.

When SDLPD translates a datafile for an outgoing job, the job data is written to a temp file in the queue directory where the print job exists.

When SDLPD receives a job from a remote host, the job control and data files are also stored in the queue's spool area.

In NetWare 3.x, this is usually in a directory such as SYS:SYSTEM\12345678.qdr. In NetWare 4 and 5, the directory is VOLUME:QUEUES\12345678.qdr where VOLUME is specified when the queue is created. The directory number 12345678 is the object id number (in hex) for the print queue.
