| SDLPD Memory Usage |
Q) How much memory do I need to run SDLPD?
A) It depends on the number of print queues you will be using.
Here are the basic requirements:
| 135k | base memory used by SDLPD.NLM. |
| 30k | Memory used per outgoing queue configured |
| 15k | Memory used per outgoing print job in progress (released upon job completion) |
| 32k | Memory used if any incoming queues are configured. (total, not per queue) |
| 30k | Memory used per outgoing print job in progress (released upon job completion) |
For example, if you have SDLPD configured for 2 incoming and 2 outgoing queues, SDLPD will use:
135k+(2x30k)+32k = 227k
While SDLPD processes an outgoing pint job, an additional 15k will be used, and released when the print job is complete. (30k will be used for each incoming print job)
