As new versions of our software products are released, changes and updates are made to improve the product. These changes are listed in the windows help file provided with the software in the section titled "What's new in this version" If you are having problems we suggest to download and install the latest version available on this server.

Common Problems

SDLPDCON.NLM can not find some/all of the print queues on a NetWare 4.x or 5.x server
This is usually due to an improper bindery context. Read faq_context.html

SDLPDCON.NLM shows an error 254 or 255 when attempting to install on a 4.x or 5.x server

Print jobs received from Unix systems print all on one line, print with a stair step effect, or print more lines than will fit on a page. Read faq_crlf.html

SDLPD is loaded however it does not receive any incoming jobs. The Unix server reports "waiting for remote host" or some other time out error when sending to SDLPD. Read faq_ipnotworking.html

A print job is being sent to a remote host however something happens (timeout, etc) and the print job transfer aborts. The print job is removed from the queue even though the "retry rejected jobs" option is set. Read faq_restart.html for details on why the file server removes the job from the queue.

Testing for SDLPD v1.18 has been completed. A free upgrade is now available on our website. SDLPD has been tested using the Novell NetWare "YES it runs with NetWare" testing toolkit for NetWare 5 and follows all Novell recommended Y2K compliance issues.

12/31/2034 Sun --> 01/01/2035 Mon

Date testing includes features: Send message to job owner, log timestamp, NLM age warning, and install dialog status. Note: NetWare uses a window date of 1980. Dates returned by NetWare in 2 digit form less than or equal to 80 are assumed 2000+.

Prerelease Beta Versions

From time to time, Secure Design will make updates to products for specific problems. These updates are frequently placed on our web site for download. If you have contacted Secure Design for a specific problem and you need to download a prerelease version of this software, you can obtain a copy from the beta directory. Please note that prerelease software is not completely tested and new changes are often not documented. Use at your own risk.
