Use the rpValidate control panel to check
for coverage of the fax number you wish to send a fax to.
Simply type in the fax number (complete with the
international dial code) and click the Check button.rpValidate will first show you the area of the world in which it finds your international dial code. Some USA area codes are also included so you may see your state or province as well as country. The e-mail target host name will be generated, which is the fax number reversed. This is where your fax will be sent, and you can copy/paste this address if you wish to send a fax via e-mail. Please read our FAQ on sending a fax by e-mail before you attempt this. If rpValidate is able to find a Mail Exchange (MX) record that claims to cover the fax number you have requested, the mail host's name will be displayed under the e-mail target. If coverage is NOT available, you will receive a dialog message that will state this fact. When using rpValidate with dialup software such as MacPPP, you may have to click the check button a second time after your PPP software has connected to your ISP. The TCP/IP link to your ISP must be fully established before rpValidate can query for fax coverage. |
