Oversize Job Scanning

QView Pro can help significantly reduce your printing costs by scanning your print queues for oversize print jobs. When an oversize print job is found, you can have QView Pro automatically remove it from the queue and notify the job owner that they should not print large jobs.

Action Performed: QView can handle oversize print jobs in several ways. Select the action performed from this list of options. The schedule and delay times are set in the Queue Control Options dialog box. The Move to: target is set in the Auto Move Options dialog box.

Copy To: is only available in the oversize job scanning dialog. It can be used to archive an entire queue; create a second print queue, specify it as the move target for the main queue, and direct QView Pro to copy all print jobs over 1 byte in size to the second print queue.

FileSize: Set this to the size which QView Pro should consider to be oversize. This setting is in bytes. QView can not scan by the number of pages in a print job because of the different file formats used by different printers.

Notify User: When an oversize job is found, a message can be sent to the job owner. Check this option if the print job owner should receive messages when an oversize job is found.

Report Action To: When a oversize job is found, a message is sent to the user or group specified in the message target field below. Click on the set button to select a user or group.

Queue Windows: This list box shows a list of all open print queue windows. You may select single or multiple items in this list to change the operation of one or more queue windows. The (Default Settings) item controls the settings that new windows will be opened with.

Apply>> Click on this button to update the settings of each selected queue window in the Queue Windows listbox. Multiple queue windows may be selected. Changing settings for (Default Settings) will affect any new queue windows that are opened.
