NotificationThe queue notification dialog allows you to configure the way QView Pro monitors the status of each print queue and how QView Pro will notify you when a problem occurs. There are two "status" options that QView uses. These are "OffLine" and "Warning." The off line status is usually used to alert QView that a printer is not printing for some reason. The warning status is usually a problem that must be attended to, such as a print queue that is backed up with many print jobs. QView can send a message to a user or group whenever a queue warning or offline status occurs. The Queue window also changes color. By default, Off Line queues are shown with a gray background and queues with Warning status are shown with a red background. You can select your own status colors in the Color dialog box in the options menu. Queue is "Off Line" when: This set of check boxes sets the criteria to detect queues that are not printing. If any condition occurs that is checked, the queue window will change colors, and a message will be sent to the appropriate user or group stating the queue has Off Line status. Queue has "Warning" Status when: This set of check boxes sets the criteria to detect queues that have a problem which requires attention. If any condition occurs that is checked, the queue window will change colors, and a message will be sent to the appropriate user or group stating the queue has Warning Status. Notify User of Spooled Jobs: When checked, the owner of a print job will be notified when the print job has finished spooling into the print queue. This is useful when users print to a holding queue (with no printer attached) They can notified by a broadcast message that their print job is ready and waiting to be released for printing. Send Messages To: QView can send a message to a user or group whenever a queue warning or offline status occurs. Click on the Set button to select a user or a group. The user selection dialog box will be displayed. Select the clear option from the user list to disable this feature (the message target field will be blank as shown above). Apply>> Click on this button to update the settings of each selected queue window in the Queues listbox. Multiple queue windows may be selected.
