Move/Copy Options

QView Pro has the ability to move or copy print jobs from one print queue to another. The Move/Copy Job Options dialog box allows you to manage this feature.

Minimize Move/Copy Progress Dialog When QView Pro is moving or copying a print job, or spooling a file from disk, a dialog box with a progress indicator is displayed. If multiple jobs are moved or copied at once, the request is stored and each job is moved one at a time. The dialog will show the number of jobs waiting to be moved. When the Minimize option is checked, this progress indicator is displayed as an icon (possibly behind another window).

Notify Job Owners Of Moves/Copies When this item is checked, the print job owner is notified after the print job is moved.

Message Delivery: When QView Pro sends a message to a print job owner, several checks are made to ensure the station is indeed the one who submitted the job to the queue.

QView Pro checks the login time of the client station and compares it to the print job entry time. If the client logged in after the job was submitted, no message is sent.

Only the file server that the queue is hosted on is checked for the client.

If a QView Pro user moves a print job from one print queue to another, the new job in the new queue is owned by the user running QView Pro and not the original job owner. The banner name will still reflect the original owner; however, any messages sent to the new print job owner will not be sent to the original user who submitted the job.
