Insert Job Into QueueQView can place print data files in the print queue. This is not the same as printing the document. Only text and data files which have been formatted for the printer should be placed in the queue with this feature. Examples of this are plain text files and PostScript files. DO NOT PLACE WORD PERFECT OR MS WORD FILES IN THE PRINT QUEUE. These are word processor files and must be printed by the software used to create them. To place files in the queue, drag the selected files from the file manager to the print queue. You can also press INS or select the "Insert Job Into Queue" item in the Job menu. Note: QView will allow you to drag and drop to other applications. The file manager does not allow files to be dropped and saved to directories however.
Print Job: Select the print job name from the list of available print jobs. Form Feed: When checked, the print server will send a form feed character to the printer after the print job. Text: Describes the content of the print job. If not checked, the job is submitted as Binary.. Binary jobs are also known as "Byte Stream." Text jobs are handled differently at the print server. Tabs are expanded to white space, and pages are broken by the lines per page as configured in the print job. User Hold: When checked, the job will not print. Job owners may place a hold on their own job, or queue operators may place holds on all jobs. Operator Hold: When checked, the job will not print. Only queue operators may edit this option. Delete Files After Queuing: If checked, the files will be deleted after being placed in the queue. Tab Width: If the job is a Text job, each tab stop is expanded to this setting. The default is 8. Tab expansion is handled by the print server. Copies: Displays the number of copies the client has requested for this print job. This will cause the print server to service the print job once for each copy. |
