QView Pro v3.x Rename Queue FAQ Products Order Contact Us Back

Symptom:
A print queue was renamed or moved to a different NDS container. Now, when QView Pro starts, an error is shown saying "can not open queue" and the old print queue name is listed.

Discussion of problem:

QView Pro saves the full NDS or Bindery name for the print queue in the qvieww.ini file. If a queue name is changed the ini file must be updated to match.

Solution:

Open the qvieww.ini file wit a text editor such as notepad. Locate the section of the file that referrs to your print queue. Two examples are shown below. (NDS and Bindery)

[QUEUE=OptraQ.SecureDesign.Beaverton.OR]

[QUEUE=//GUMBY/GUMBY_1]

Modify the qvieww.ini file line to match the change in the queue name. Start QView Pro and verify a window for the new queue name is shown.

Note: If you rename or move a usergroup that you configured to receive notification messages (when QView Pro detects a problem) you will need to modify the file in a similar manner. You may also re-select the new usergroup in the individual queue configuration menu to receive notification messages.
