Question:
QView Pro for Windows provides an "edit" button in the job details dialog. When clicking on this button, the windows program "write.exe"is launched. Can any other editor be specified.

Answer:
Yes. In the qvieww.ini file, edit the following line in the [GeneralOptions] section:

FileEditor=WRITE.EXE

Change the name of the program to you favorite editor. The executable should be located in your search path. The program will be launched with the file name on the command line. For example, QView Pro would launch

write.exe \\server\volume\queue\jobdata.q

The editor program you specify must be able to handle regular and unc filenames on the command line.
