QView Pro v3.xx DLL FAQ

Symptom:
QView Pro for Windows requires several DLLs to interface with the underlying network shell driver. If these DLLs are not loaded QView will not run, and a message will be shown stating one of the following:

• Win31 & Win3.11: Can not find file (or one of its' components)
• Win9x: Can not find NWLOCALE.DLL Windows needs this file to run QVIEWW16.EXE.

Discussion of problem:
The DLLs required are not available in the workstation search path, or the windows/system directory.

The DLLs may not be available because the client software was not installed with windows support.

Note: The NDS client software from Microsoft for Windows 95 does not come with the required DLLs. According to the MS-NDS readme.txt file that comes with that client software, the user is responsible for obtaining the DLLs from Novell.

Please choose only 1 of the following solutions:

Solution 1: (QView Pro v3.18)
Install the latest client 32 software from http://support.novell.com This is our preferred solution.

Solution 2: (QView Pro v3.17)
Download the required DLLs from Novell's web site. Install these DLLs in your windows/system directory. These DLLs are provided with the Novell Client 32 software at http://support.novell.com

You can also download NWDLL.ZIP from our site as well.

This archive has DLLs that should work with win95 and MSNDS client software.

Solution 3: (QView Pro v3.16 and earlier)
Download the required DLLs from Novell's web site. Install these DLLs in your windows/system directory. These DLLs are located at the FTP site ftp.novell.com in the directory /pub/updates/nwos/dsclnt12 The file is called NWDLL2.EXE

You can also download NWDLL2.EXE from our site as well.

This archive has DLLs that should work with NETX, VLM and MSNDS client software.

Note for Client32 users: If you are using Client32 software from Novell, you must use the DLLs provided by the Client32 installer. If these are not available, you must re-install the Client32 software. Do not use the DLLs from NWDLL2.EXE with the Client32 drivers.
